Scholarships for Masters studies in environmentally sound energy utilisation, with a specialisation in hydropower
RES offers a one-year international Masters programme (90 ECTS) in environmentally sound energy utilisation and renewable energy sources. The programme is intended for students who have completed a BSc in engineering, science or a comparable subject. The Masters programme is offered in close cooperation with the University of Akureyri and the University of Iceland, which will be responsible for graduation of the RES students and confer the formal Masters degree.
The academic year begins in February 2010, with specialisation available in five fields of study: Geothermal Energy, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Energy, Biomass Energy and Environmentally Sound Fuels, Hydroelectric Power and Energy Systems and Energy Management.
Forty students from fourteen countries are presently pursuing Masters degrees in four fields of study at RES. Great emphasis is placed on the international character of the degrees. All instruction is provided in English, and many teachers at the School come from foreign universities. The School's MSc students work on their research projects in association with Icelandic energy companies or foreign cooperating universities and research institutions.
RES – School for Renewable Energy Science offers first-class facilities in an international study environment.
