Magnús Bjarnason appointed Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development at Landsvirkjun
Magnús Bjarnason has been appointed Managing Director of Marketing and Business Development at Landsvirkjun.
This is a new division with the role of sharpening the focus on marketing issues within the company in order to maximise future revenue. The Managing Director of this division will answer directly to the company's Managing Director. Marketing operations within the company will be transferred to the new division.
Magnús Bjarnason was Managing Director of Capacent Glacier, a firm specialising in consulting in the field of sustainable energy. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Glitnir Bank's International Division, overseeing the bank's international energy and fisheries business. Magnús worked in foreign affairs for several years, acting as Iceland's business representative in the USA and Canada, and later as a consul and ambassador in the Icelandic Embassy in China. He has a BS in Business Studies and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
