Landsvirkjun to sponsor MIT Global Startup Workshop 2010 in Reykjavík
Landsvirkjun is one of the sponsors of the MIT Global Startup Workshop 2010. Held annually since 1998, MIT GSW is an international convention that addresses innovation and invention, with attendees coming from up to 60 countries.
This year's gathering will take place in the Hilton Reykjavík Nordica Hotel, on 24–26 March.
Over 350 participants attend the convention each year, making it an important event for the international innovator community. MIT GSW is a pioneering arena in which university students, inventors, start-up companies, investors, university professors and organisations from every continent can meet and pool their knowledge.
The event is being organised by a group of MBA students from Reykjavik University and from MIT in Boston, along with representatives from Innovit, a centre for innovation and invention.
This year, the convention will be held under the banner “Conquering the Economic Crisis with Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Green Energy”.
Bjarni Bjarnason, Managing Director of Landsvirkjun Power, will be one of the participants. He will be lecturing on sustainable energy and the use of energy in Iceland.
The schedule for the whole event can be found on the convention's website.
