Gagarin has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot in the category of Communication Design for Landsvirkjun’s exhibition, “Powering the Future” in the Ljósafoss Power Station. This is the second international award conferred on the exhibition this year, which also received the Gold Prize at the European Design Awards earlier this year in the category of digital design. The designers of the Exhibition are Gagarin and Tvíhorf Architects.
A thousand submissions were received from 46 countries for the competition, which is among the most prestigious in the world. The jury is comprised of judges from 57 countries, including design experts, university professors and journalists.
The diverse and educational exhibits provide energetic people of all ages with an opportunity to collect electrons, control reservoirs, capture the wind and light up the world in 120 years.
The Ljósafoss Power Station is located close to the UNESCO heritage site of Thingvellir, about a 50 minute drive from Reykjavik. The Exhibition is open every day of the week this summer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
