Landsvirkjun´s 2015 Annual Report seeks to engage the public and to make it easier for them to familiarise themselves with the Company, its performance and its operations. This is the third consecutive year that Landsvirkjun only releases an electronic version of its Annual Report. The link is: annualreport2015.landsvirkjun.com. An electronic version of our Environmental Report will also be available in the near future.
A special emphasis was placed on improved graphical presentation this year and a number of videos can be found in this year’s Report, including Hörður Arnarson’s CEO Statement who amongst other things states that Landsvirkjun “has reduced the Company's debt by 107 billion since 2009". Other videos include the documentary on the construction of the Búrfell Hydropower Station and videos about the Þeistareykir Geothermal Power Station, the interactive exhibition at the Ljósafoss Hydropower Station, marketing drives and power station operations.
New features also include a special Twitter button which appears when a particular text is chosen. The feature makes it easier to share text on Twitter.

The first electronic versions of Landsvirkjun’s Annual and Environmental Report were published in 2013 and have always been published in collaboration with the Jonsson & Le'macks agency and the web media agency Skapalón. They have received numerous nominations and awards both at home and abroad. These include nominations for the Digital Communication Awards and European Excellence Awards as well as receiving recognition from Awwwards, an international association of designers, web designers and programmers.
The 2013 Annual Report was selected as the best company website by the Icelandic Web Awards and was awarded the Icelandic advertising award “Lúðurinn” for the best web advert. The Report was also nominated for the Nexpo website of the year award.
The 2014 Annual Report received the Grand Award for graphics and design at the ARC Awards, the international competition for the best printed and electronic annual reports. The Report also received two gold awards, one bronze and one honorary award in four categories.
