Water inflow into Landsvirkjun´s reservoirs this summer has been above average in all parts of the Iceland. On July 30th the daily average water inflow into Halslon reservoir reached 588 m3 /sec.
Despite a cold spell towards the end of July reducing the inflows, Halslon reservoir is predicted to fill up later this month. Blanda reservoir is also likely to fill up in August, but Þorisvatn reservoir is unlikely to fill this year.
Weather conditions and glacial runoff will determine if and when Landsvirkjun´s reservoirs will fill up. You can monitor the status of all of the company´s reservoirs here on Landsvirkjun´s web page.
