The Profitable Future of Energy

Landsvirkjun is owned by the Icelandic state. Our role is to maximise the potential yield and value of the natural resources we have been entrusted with, in a sustainable, responsible and efficient manner. Our Autumn Meeting is an opportunity to assess how close we are to our objectives, to discuss our future prospects and to focus on our social responsibilities.

Landsvirkjun regularly holds open meetings, in an effort to encourage transparency and qualified discussion on all aspects of its operation.

Agenda

  • Progressiveness in an International Economic Crisis.
    Hörður Arnarson, CEO

One of Landsvirkjun’s main objectives is to maximise the potential yield of Iceland’s natural resources, in order to create a profit for Icelandic society. How can we achieve this goal? Is a crisis the right time for progressiveness?

  • Prudence and Potential in Energy Production
Einar Mathiesen, Director of the Energy Division

Landsvirkjun has substantial assets. What potential do they have? What can we do to improve our operations even further? Can we increase energy production without extensive investment? How do we ensure the maximum return on company assets?
  • Trust Prospers with the Confidence of Society
Ragna Árnadóttir, Executive Vice President of the Corporate Office

One of Landsvirkjun’s main objectives is to encourage support and unity and an open working relationship with the various stakeholders. What measures need to be taken to increase society’s trust in us? How can we define our responsibilities toward the nation, nature and future generations? Do the interests of the company and society conflict, or work in unison?

  • Questions and Discussion

Chairman of the Meeting is Magnús Þór Gylfason, Head of Corporate Communications.
