Landsvirkjun strengthens its marketing and business development and recruits three experts

Landsvirkjun's goal is to broaden its customer base by breaking into new markets, whilst retaining its current clients. The company has hired two new account managers and one business development specialist in order to strengthen and further develop the company's marketing and business development.

Stella Marta Jónsdóttir: Account Manager
Stella Marta Jónsdóttir

Stella Marta Jónsdóttir has been hired as an account manager with responsibility for Landsvirkjun's electricity sales on the wholesale market, as well as responsibility for a group of existing customers. Stella completed her PhD in engineering at Denmark's Technical University in 1998 and holds an M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of Aalborg (1991). Since 2006, she has been the managing director of Kaffitár,one of leading brands in coffee and cafés in Iceland. Amongst her previous jobs, she worked for the IT company Maritech where she was responsible for sales and communications with Icelandic and overseas customers; and also as a project manager for the Danish consulting firm NIRAS.

Ríkardur Ríkardsson: Account Manager
Ríkarður Ríkarðsson

Ríkardur Ríkardsson has been hired as an account manager and he will take responsibility for developing trade connected to data centres, as well as maintaining relations with existing customers. Ríkardur completed his M.Sc. in electrical engineering (with special emphasis on wireless communications) in 2002 at Stanford University. Ríkardur has worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Copenhagen since 2009. Between 2006 and 2009 he worked for various Icelandic financial companies and from 2002 to 2006 he worked for Xilinx, the American microprocessor company – first based at their development centre in California and then as a business developer for the European technology market in London.

Eyrún Gudjónsdóttir: Business Development Specialist
Eyrún Gudjónsdóttir

Eyrún Gudjónsdóttir has been appointed the new business development specialist and will take responsibility for the analysis and development of trade related to carbon markets and green certifications; she will also act as a general consultant to the company. Eyrún completed her M.Sc. in international finance in 2008 and her B.Sc. in corporate law in 2005 – both at Bifröst University in West Iceland. Eyrún was managing director of the consulting firm Kolka, which she founded in 2009, offering services and consultations regarding carbon limits and carbon emission trading. Previously Eyrún spent six years working for Íslandsbanki and most recently as a credit manager for numerous corporations.

The new employees will be responsible for the management of contracts and communications with current and expected customers. In addition, the Business Development department will back up the Account Managers with market analysis, contract preparation and the development of new products.

Furthermore, the new Landsvirkjun staff will be working closely with Einar Kristjánsson, Head of Business Development; Thórólfur Nielsen, Engineering Specialist; Edvard G. Gudnason, current Account Manager and Mr. Magnús Bjarnason, Head of Marketing and Business Development.
