Landsvirkjun receives "Weights that Tip the Scale" award

November 18, 2004

During the conference, Landsvirkjun won recognition in the category of public institutions and publicly owned enterprises, while ISS Iceland was recognised in the category of companies on the open market.

Reykjavík Mayor Þórólfur Árnason presented Landsvirkjun's award to Friðrik Sophusson, Managing Director, and the ISS Iceland award to Jón Trausti Leifsson, Assistant General Manager, and Ólöf A. Þórðardóttir, Personnel Manager.

Since 1999, Landsvirkjun has worked systematically toward modifying its work practices, in order to meet modern demands for flexible work arrangements, and executes a policy of gender equality. The organisation of shifts has been changed wherever possible, and there are regular checks of staff attitudes on company performance in balancing work and private life.
