Over 10.000 guests have visited Landsvirkjun this summer

August 12, 2013

Landsvirkjun has received a large number of visitors this summer. The company operates three visitor centers around the country and also offered guided tours of the new windmill turbines at "Hafið" by Búrfellsstöð in South Iceland, every Saturday in July.

More than 1200 keen guests visited the windmills in July to chat with Landsvirkjun’s employees and learn about how Landsvirkjun is harnessing the Icelandic wind to produce electricity. We are most grateful for the warm reception the project has received in the short time since it was launched.

The Landvirkjun visitor centers are open from June 1st to August 31st. They are located at Búrfellstöð, Kröflustöð and Fljótsdalsstöð. More than 9000 people have visited our centers this summer to learn about Landsvirkjun and the possibilities of renewable energy.

The centers will continue to receive guests to the end of August. If you are travelling around Iceland we encourage you to visit us. Locations and visiting hours can be found here:
