Last fall, mould was discovered in Landsvirkjun headquarters at Háaleitisbraut 68. Therefore, for the last few months, Landsvirkjun headquarters employees have been working in different office accommodations in Reykjavík and in some cases this arrangement will continue for a few more months.
Furthermore, the headquarters at Háaleitisbraut 68 will be closed from July 1st. The reception and all other office operations in the capital area will be united in Katrínartún 2 in the coming winter and part of operations are already located there.
“For now, Landsvirkjun headquarters employees leave their office building at Háaleitisbraut with sadness in their hearts, as this has been the Company’s main office for almost half a century. Whether the building will be renovated, or the headquarters operations must be permanently moved to new premises, is still under consideration,” says Hörður Arnarson, CEO of Landsvirkjun. “This temporary solution for Landsvirkjun headquarters is essential. Now it must be evaluated whether renovating the old premises is the best option or new future accommodation is needed for the Company,” the CEO further explains.
