Landsvirkjun has today repurchased 80 million EUR bonds, due January 2024. The bonds were issued through an EMTN programme and listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with ISIN numbers XS0183893550 and XS0184706595.
The repurchased notes were issued with a state guarantee of collection. The transaction will therefore reduce the ratio of state guaranteed bonds issued by Landsvirkjun to around 14% of outstanding loans. The remaining outstanding bonds with a state guarantee of collection were issued in 2006.
The repurchase reflects Landsvirkjun's strong financial position and is part of the Company's debt management.
