We operate fourteen hydropower stations, three geothermal stations, one wind farm and two experimental wind turbines across five operating areas in Iceland.

Bjarnarflag Geothermal Station was commissioned on 5 March 1969 and is in the geothermal area Bjarnarflag in Mývatnssveit. 

Blanda Power Station was commissioned in 1991. It is located in northwest Iceland. 

Búðarháls Power Station was commissioned on 7 March 2014. It is located in the west of Mt. Búðarháls in the Þjórsá Area.

Búrfell Power Station was commissioned on 16 September 1969. Búrfell Power Station is near the waterfall Hjálparfoss and its reservoir Bjarnalón.

Búrfell II Power Station was commissioned on 2 July 2018 and is located 300 metres underground in Sámsstaðaklif.

Fljótsdalur Power Station was commissioned on 30 November 2007 and is underground at Mt. Valþjófsstaðarfjall.

Two experimental wind turbines were commissioned at Hafið on 14 February 2013, north of Mt. Búrfell.

Hrauneyjafoss Power Station was commissioned on 21 October 1981. It is situated near Sprengisandsleið (F26) on the edge of Iceland’s central highlands.

Írafoss Power Station was commissioned on 16 October 1953. It is located on the Sog River, downstream from Lake Þingvallavatn.

Krafla Geothermal Station was commissioned on 21 February 1978. It is located in the Krafla geothermal area near Lake Mývatn in northeast Iceland.

Laxá II Power Station was commissioned on 10 October 1953. It is located in Laxárdalur, northeast Iceland.

Laxá III Power Station was commissioned in October 1973. It is located in Laxárdalur, near Lake Mývatn in northeast Iceland.

Ljósafoss Power Station was commissioned in 1937. It is located east of Ljósafoss waterfall on the Sog River, downstream from Lake Úlfljótsvatn.

Sigalda Power Station was commissioned on 13 December 1978. It is located south of Þórisvatn in the Þjórsá and Tungnaá area.

Steingríms Power Station was commissioned on 6 August 1959. It is located on the Sog River, at the outlet of Lake Úlfljótsvatn.

Sultartangi Power Station was commissioned in November 1999. It is located northeast of Búrfell Power Station, near Þjórsárdalsvegur in the Þjórsá and Tungnaá area.

Vaðalda Wind Farm, Iceland’s first wind power plant, was commissioned on 15 September 2026. The wind farm is located on a lava and sand plain at Vaðalda, east of Þjórsá River and south of Sultartangi Dam.

Vatnsfell Power Station was commissioned on 9 November 2001. It is located near Vatnsfellslón, between Þórisvatn and Krókslón.

Þeistareykir Geothermal Station was commissioned on 17 November 2017. It is located in the southern part of Reykjaheiði, northeast Iceland.
