Landsvirkjun leading sponsor of IGC 2027

IGC 2027 will mark the sixth edition of the Iceland Geothermal Conference, bringing the international geothermal community together in Harpa, Reykjavík.

Under the theme Geothermal for a Changing World, the conference will explore the growing role of geothermal energy in a rapidly evolving global energy landscape. The programme will address the full geothermal value chain, from exploration and resource development to technology, operations, investment and the wider impact of geothermal energy on communities and society.

IGC has established itself as an important international meeting point for the geothermal sector. The 2027 conference is expected to welcome close to 700 participants representing 50–60 nationalities, bringing together leaders, experts, companies, policymakers, researchers and investors from across the geothermal value chain.

IGC 2027 is hosted by ORKIS Energy Cluster Iceland, a collaborative platform for Iceland’s energy sector created through the merger of Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster, GEORG Geothermal Research Cluster and Icelandic New Energy. ORKIS brings together expertise, networks and projects from across the Icelandic energy community, with the aim of strengthening international collaboration, competitiveness and value creation within the sector.

For Landsvirkjun, continued support for IGC reflects the importance of international knowledge exchange and cooperation in advancing responsible geothermal development.

IGC 2027 will take place in Reykjavík, Iceland, in May 2027.
