Landsvirkjun x HYDRO 2026

Generating electricity exclusively from renewable sources; hydropower, geothermal power and wind, Landvirkjun’s role is to maximize the value of the resources it has been entrusted with by the people of Iceland, in a sustainable and efficient manner.

We have doubled our installed capacity in Iceland over the past 20 years. Internationally, we have worked on more than 40 projects in 15 countries.

Looking ahead, Landsvirkjun’s role is threefold: build responsibly new power plants, optimize existing assets, and lead by example through transparent climate accounting and green finance.

Iceland’s national target is carbon neutrality by 2040, and Landsvirkjun is one of the platforms that will hopefully make it possible.

We are looking forward to meeting passionate collage from around the world. We have exciting projects coming up in the South of Iceland, our hub for Hydropower Energy. We are building our eight hydropower station in the area, expanding another and building our portfolio for development projects out of Iceland.

We invest alongside you and stay hands-on from development through decades of operation. You get a partner with the balance sheet to fund large projects, a delivery record to prove they get built, and long experience powering energy-intensive industry.
