Landsvirkjun and Laxey ehf. have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for renewable energy to develop a new land-based aquaculture facility on the Vestmannaeyjar islands.

Búrfell II Power Station came online on 2 July 2018 and is one of Landsvirkjun’s seven hydropower stations in the Þjórsá Area. The Búrfell II Power Station is 300 m underground at Sámstaðaklif.

Búðarháls Power Station came online on 7 March 2014 and is one of Landsvirkjun’s seven hydropower stations in the Þjórsá Area. Búðarháls Power Station is in the west of Mt. Búðarháls.

Hafið Wind Farm was launched on 14 February 2013 and is north of Mt. Búrfell.

Fljótsdalur Power Station came online on 30 November 2007 and is underground at Mt. Valþjófsstaðarfjall.

Vatnsfell Power Station came online on 9 November 2001 and is one of Landsvirkjun’s seven hydropower stations. Vatnsfell Power Station is close to its reservoir Vatnsfellslón.

Sultartangi Power Station came online in November 1999 and is one of Landsvirkjun’s seven hydropower stations in the Þjórsá Area. Sultartangi Power Station is in the northeast of Búrfell Power Station, close to the road Þjórsárdalsvegur.

Blanda Power Station came online in the autumn of 1991 and is in the Northwest.

Hrauneyjafoss Power Station came online on 21 October 1981 and is one of Landsvirkjun’s seven hydropower stations in the Þjórsá Area. Hrauneyjafoss Power Station is near the road Sprengisandsleið (F26) at the edge of Iceland’s highlands.
